Where to stay when visiting Vesterbro in Copenhagen?

The ultimate dream hotel in Copenhagen must be Hotel Central on Tullinsgade. The hotel has only a single room, and the nicest café on the ground floor. It is also the perfect location to stay, because you are close to the whole city and you will find a lot of great breakfast spots right nearby.

Where to eat in the area?

My favorite restaurant in Vesterbro, Copenhagen is Osteria Pesce on Sønder Boulevard (See photos above). It’s Italian antipasti with only on fish and veggies, and the desserts are always worth ordering!

Pho Hanoi by Vesterport Station has the best Vietnamese food and Bento on Helgolandsgade has the best Japanese potato salad and Teriyaki salmon in their Bento boxes (see picture below). Helges Ost on Værnedamsvej makes the best sandwiches with mortadella and gherkins, and they have really many goodies to bring home if you’d like to have cheese and tapas for dinner.

Where to go in the city?

In the summertime i like to visit Riga on Dannebrogsgade for Paloma cocktails outside and in the autumn I think that Lidkoeb is a wonderful place for drinks. Their Martinis are really good. AtH15 in the Meat Packing District they make a great Negroni and my new favorite wine bar is Vogelkop. It’s a tiny place, but the surroundings are beautiful and the wine is good.

Where to shop?

I recommend taking a walk down Oehlenschlægersgade. Many nice, small shops have recently popped up in this area. Mr. Larkin is the best clothing store if you are looking for colors and good quality, and Fillo Boutique has the finest underwear brands – especially Yasmin Eslami makes comfort in the most beautiful colors.

How to get around the city / area?

On foot or by bike! (Tip: For example, rent a bike for a day)

Do you have other local tips?

Every Wednesday Bageriet Brød near Enghave Plads sell their famous “Berliners”, and the one with salted caramel is a must try!
